These are two example plug-ins for ShadowIRC. To install them, move the approprate version of the plugin (PPC or 68k) to the Plugins folder in the same folder ShadowIRC is in. Both of these plugins require ShadowIRC 0.7.0 or later.
MailCheck performs a function found in IRCii, a Unix IRC client. In the Input window, it displays how many email messages you have waiting on your mailserver.
MailCheck has a Preferences window, in which you supply server information, which you can find in the preferences for your email client, and which also allows you to change how often it checks your email. Note: sometimes, MailCheck and your email client will "collide" when checking your email status. This is perfectly okay, and both will simply try again later. As a suggestion, try setting MailCheck to once a minute, and your email client to every half hour. If email arrives in between those 30-minute periods, you'll know in ShadowIRC and can manually get the messages with your email client.
NumUsers displays some vital channel statistics in the bottom right of each channel window. In the first column, it displays the total number of users in the channel. Then, however many are +v, meaning they can talk (or have a voice) if the channel is +m, or moderated. Then, how many operators are in a channel, and finally, how many IRC operators.
